NOTE: Under COVID-19 lockdown we have moved to online meetings.
Afterwards at 11:00am we gather on Zoom for a time to share news of what God is doing in our lives and pray for one another. also have a short Bible discussion led by one of our church family members.
If you want to meet someone from Church of Promise, you can drop in to our church building at 10:30am on Sunday morning where someone will be there to greet you. They will also help you keep safe and explain how you can meet us online etc. You can also stop and listen to the worship team lead the online worship if you so desire.
Many of the adults in the church are in one of the weekly home groups, where they can live their lives alonside each other sharing together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Currently meeting on Zoom.
Each group has a distinct flavor, depending on the members, but each aims to provide a healthy diet of Bible study, prayer, and socializing. Some home groups meet in the morning and others in the evening.
To join these, contact us via the phone number on this website or email. We will discuss the options with you and provide Zoom details.
There has been a lunch club for the over-60s at Winthorpe Road for over 20 years now. It takes place on the first Thursday of every month (except August) at 12 for 12.15. We provide a two-course home-cooked meal plus tea or coffee, for the price of just £4.
We have about 20 regulars, but there is always room for more. If you would like to join us, you would be very welcome, but please contact Tony in advance on 01636 682768 to book your place.
Every Wednesday through the year the church is open for teas and coffees from 10 till 12, for anyone who wants to drop in for a chat and cuppa.
There is no charge, and all are very welcome, just to have a drink and a chat, have a game of something, or just unwind. We have a small group of regular visitors, both church family and other local folk.
Everyone welcome even if you are not part of our regular church family - come and say "hello", we'd love to meet you.
We encourage all those committed to the church to pray regularly not just for their personal issues, but for the church, its members, the local community and our outreach into it.
We get together to pray through these things every Monday at 7.30 for an hour or so. At the moment this is hosted by Zoom online:
If you want to join us, please get in touch by email and we can send you the Zoom login details.
This is our monthly Hobby Club activity on the 1st Thursday of the month at 1:30pm after Lunch Club.
Everyone welcome even if you are not part of our church family.
Bring along your special hobby interests or just join the ones already going on.
Why not also come along for Lunch Club which is held on the same day just before Hobby Club.
Every 3rd Sunday or as required at 7:30 pm currently on Zoom
Please pray for the leaders as they seek to lead Church of Promise under God's direction, espcially through these difficult COVID-19 times when we can't meet in person.
